by Susan Parrino Hester

About the Author:

Sue Hester loves and enjoys life. Between her childhood and cancer journeys, she earned a BA in English from MSU and a certificate in teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages from Cambridge University. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 1970-73.

In her 35-year government career, Sue was a leader in the Denver federal human resources community, having served as the top human resources official for three federal agencies.

After retiring in 2006, Sue’s focus turned to volunteering. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance, and regularly tutors English as a Second Language at Emily Griffith Technical College. She has also volunteered with other organizations including Meals on Wheels, the Anti-Defamation League, Alzheimers Association, and her church.
